Hey, if I’m going to be a breeder, I need to use the correct terms. The correct term for a male chicken over one year is cock bird. Rooster is more of a layman’s term.
 
This is one of the few places I can actually use that word, but still go with rooster because a part of me still feels like i'll get in trouble...am I alone in that ?:lol:

I COMPLETELY understand that impulse. I avoided it for a while, but one of my Cornish FB groups recently told members that any posts using the incorrect terminology will be deleted. So I’ve resolved to use the correct terms. Though I’ll temper what I say when counseling newbies on BYC. I’m sure you guys don’t mind sniggering at me. :p
