I am sorry. I know that is really tough. My first job was at a nursing home and I loved it.I just called my Mom in FL. She has dementia and keeps thinking i am in Ohio. Never been there in my life! But she was saying how all the birds are gone so i am going to send her a hummingbird feeder with the box of candy she wanted. There is a screened in porch there, but woods directly behind her. Any way, she used to live on a pond and there were lots of water birds there. So i guess she misses them.
Poor Mom, i feel badly for her. We lived at her house for a year after Dad died but with my depression i just could not handle it any longer. Had to get away. So she is in an expensive nursing home.

I have been through it with my great grandmother, my grandfather (who raised me) and no my husband’s grandmother, who has done a 180 in personality. My mom also has dementia but is doing really well. She is still able to live alone and cook for herself, does her own laundry but my brother and I have taken over all her bill paying and her finances. We also took her car away. It's so hard because it's frustrating dealing with her and I don't have an over abundance of patience but I have to remind myself she can't help it when she tells me the same thing 5 times in 20 minutes. Lol Definitely challenging.

Miss you!

Beautiful!!!I spent the whole weekend putting up decorations. Lights and garland on the coop ( see photo) and lights and garland around the front door. Decorated the fireplace mantle in the kitchen and put up my nutcracker collection in the living room. Put up a lot of other little things too. Poor Mom could not remember that Alzheimer's killed her sister. I am pretty sure she doesn't realize she has it too. Old age is not for sissies!I am so sorry about your mom.
We are going through a similar situation right now with DH's dad.
He has Parkinson's and is declining rapidly.
We have a friend from Bulgaria and we get a gift basket with those every year! When I was in Germany I'd shop the Kris Kindal mart. It was wonderful. Still miss the dutch chocolates filled with booze.
Good they range all day everyday so we will try it out. My Ameraucanas need more spaceRegardless of how you grow them, they will taste better than anything in the store. Free range tastes the best. Age determines tenderness and cooking method.
Never underestimate the value of ground chicken or turkey.
Cap, you're absolutely correct. I have heard some say they don't like the stronger flavor of a free range bird, but generally just write them off as people with a poorly developed pallet. Store bought chicken is tasteless and squishy.
Morning all.18* here.
That is what my grandmother says!Poor Mom could not remember that Alzheimer's killed her sister. I am pretty sure she doesn't realize she has it too. Old age is not for sissies!
