Official Squatch Watchers

She is all white every feather. The funny thing is I was given both of them from a guy that bought and sold chickens. He didn't know what they were just thought they were runts with a deformed feathers on their feet. I went to buy some Ameraucanas from him when I was just starting out. They weren't Ameraucanas they were EE's and that's how I learned the difference between Ameraucanas and EE's. I was so proud that I had Ameraucanas and plastered them all over BYC and everyone told me they were EE's I was upset until I found out what these BC's were and what they would look like.
Well they are beautiful!! So good thing he didnt know what he had, for you! Win!
The ever knowing battle weather its a Ameraucana or a EE... i still dont know for sure what mine is gues i never really questioned it...

You totally scored with the Cochin's. People very rarely let a female bantam Cochin go here. I drove 150 miles to get my Bitty girl. I would do it again in a heartbeat. My silver laced came from a straight run hatchery lot. I chose the absolute darkest ones as the males have a lot of white when grown. I lost 1 to a heart attack as she was running across the yard. I saw it happen and in the seconds it took me to get to her she was already completely gone. Now its just Bitty and Smudgie.
I am very jelly of your pretty young birdies.

I have since learned how to tell the difference between the two and learned where to look when I'm trying to find Ameraucanas and even working with a breeder to bring these guys back. I hope to be a known breeder one day

I never thought I would be considering getting bantams. The bigger the better I always thought. But I've had people tell me that they use Bantam Cochins to hatch Quail. I'm tempted to get some just to give them to a friend who raises quail. Also some people mentioned in my featured thread how cute it was to have their banties raising LF chicks. Of course, you wouldn't want to do that too late in the year since a tiny banty mama couldn't keep the babies warm enough.

I'm not sure about the momma keeping them warm thing. If I was going to pick a bantam to hatch any eggs I would get a silky bantam they are super broody. My silky hatches all my eggs and she is a great momma
