Official Squatch Watchers

Nope 1/4 cup got it, 1/3 cup has been dead awhile if I remember correctly I stepped on it. :(
It was the 1/3rd cup one wasn't it? :(
That's ALWAYS the first one to die here. :hmm

Seriously, it is a gooey dough and that's just how it came out. It made me laugh at the irony of it all.
They are pretty good. Not really sweet, not super flakey on the inside but pretty good.
Even my son who does not like pastries ate one and came back for a few more.

Dear God! How do you live woman??? :th

Morning folks :frow

Hey guys. I had a crazy busy day here. Worked almost 10 hours and made a run to the bank. We found out this morning that doing two houses with only room for one septic system has gotten us in a little bit of trouble with the health codes of the county. We were also supposed to get a perc test done for septic before the houses were moved on to the property. Of course, we knew none of this. No one told us this is how things are supposed to work.

Fortunately the health inspector lady is very reasonable and stated she is of the mindset that people should be able to do what they want with their property. However, there are rules. The reasoning for having the rules about shared septic is because if the lot gets subdivided, one house or the other is "orphaned" from the septic system or well. So we had to write up an affidavit of intent of use stating that we originally wanted a single home on the property and we will be treating the two houses as an "extended family complex". We also state that if we ever do sell the other trailer that it will be moved from the property as we have no intentions of subdividing our land.

:he I just want to get all this done and overwith.

Sorry Rae, at least she was reasonable and came up with a solution. My friend had to file a lawsuit against the county to get past the issue.

Morning everyone.

I love that article.

I have seen them have concern over flockmates.
Super sad was Sandy defending the deceased EE.
I do see distinct friendships in my flock and a lot of behaviors that tell me they are smart critters.
I agree.
I knew ahead of time that they weren’t “dumb” but I think initially I wasn’t prepared for the extent of their intelligence.

The part about “time travel” is particularly intriguing because Corrine will risk being locked out by the automatic door shutting in the evening because she “waits” for DH to come home from work.

As soon as his car pulls into the driveway she begins pacing in the open run.

His routine, no matter what the weather is, is to come in and change his clothes, then he goes out there, lifts her over the fence and carries her to the porch and just sits for a few minutes, petting her on his lap.
There’s no food involved in this nightly ritual. Just quiet friendship.

That is very sweet.

In my big group there is the cross beaked orpington. She is definitely friends with the regular beaked orpington but 2 of the Australorp have been seen calling her to where I have put larger pieces of treats like Apple chunks. They will drive off the other birds and not eat those pieces but defend her while she eats them.
The first time I saw that was when they were coming out of being broody so I thought nothing of it. They still do it though. I found it odd then very interesting.
Do they know she has trouble with small bits, vision and needs the calories?
