Official Squatch Watchers

I had to cut way back on salt (doctor's orders) when I was pg more than 33 years ago. Then I got used to no added salt and stayed that way. Eggs are pretty blah like that and baked potatoes. But I still have my ice cream - there are trade offs in life.

Hey guys. I had a crazy busy day here. Worked almost 10 hours and made a run to the bank. We found out this morning that doing two houses with only room for one septic system has gotten us in a little bit of trouble with the health codes of the county. We were also supposed to get a perc test done for septic before the houses were moved on to the property. Of course, we knew none of this. No one told us this is how things are supposed to work.

Fortunately the health inspector lady is very reasonable and stated she is of the mindset that people should be able to do what they want with their property. However, there are rules. The reasoning for having the rules about shared septic is because if the lot gets subdivided, one house or the other is "orphaned" from the septic system or well. So we had to write up an affidavit of intent of use stating that we originally wanted a single home on the property and we will be treating the two houses as an "extended family complex". We also state that if we ever do sell the other trailer that it will be moved from the property as we have no intentions of subdividing our land.

:he I just want to get all this done and overwith.

My sister has a friend that rents a house on a shared septic. They would love to buy the house but they can’t separate the property.

Plastic measuring cup didn't make it.:(

I'm happy about it Cappy, but it isn't normal for him. Maybe he's going senile in a good way.:)

It was the 1/3rd cup one wasn't it? :(
That's ALWAYS the first one to die here. :hmm

I can barely contain myself as I read this! I have 17 more posts to go til (I hope) you tell us how they taste!!!!!:fl:wee:bow

Seriously, it is a gooey dough and that's just how it came out. It made me laugh at the irony of it all.
They are pretty good. Not really sweet, not super flakey on the inside but pretty good.
Even my son who does not like pastries ate one and came back for a few more.

I don't even buy salted caramel ice cream.

Dear God! How do you live woman??? :th

There are bound to be hiccups. I hope that's the worst of it.

Sorry Rae, always red tape to deal with.

Agreed. There’s always glitches.
@Redhead Rae if you were stick-building a house there would be a year or more of hurdle after hurdle after hurdle.

You are on a really fast track and you’ll be sleeping in your own bed in your own room under your own roof in no time flat, and I am so excited for you.
Hang in there.:hugs

The only reason the abomination next door is allowed to exist is because the neighbor behind us put in sewer and created an access point that they could use. No matter how many perc tests they ran over the last 30 yrs, it never passed. Ours did, and we have such good drainage that it took almost 19 yrs for the septic tank to need pumping. Mind you, this is a 3 bedroom, 1 3/4 bath with 6 people living in it.

Make sure you feed your septic tank well, Rid-X is worth it. If you can, put all grease and fat in containers and send it out with the garbage, it will solidify in to large clumps if you send it to the tank.
