Happy St. Patricks Day.jpg

Morning everyone.

Battled a bad migraine yesterday.
I did read ALL the posts.

Stacey, OMG your poor kitty. :hugs
I am very glad he got all fixed up.

Suzi, Your cute little cochin is absolutely gorgeous! I am super happy she is feeling better. :hugs

Molpet, I love the color and speckles of the turkey egg. Lol no not broken turkey hens after all.
:thumbsup
I hope you are better today!

You too, Ron! :lau
Corned beef and cabbage for dinner today!

I am not making Irish Soda bread. Today is sourdough bread. The sponge in on the table ready for the next step

My little porcelain d'Uccle didn't make it. :(

I think she got wet and chilled overnight. I tried to TLC her, warm her in my boobs, Nutridrench, but she just died.

The other two are doing great though! Vey active and spunky.

Here is a pic of my cuckoo marans. I'm calling her Cookie for now.

I wanted to like your post for the happy of the ones doing well but the sad of losing the porcelain is just way to sad.
I am so sorry. :hugs

I hope you are better today!

Much better today. I can feel it still lurking waiting to strike though.

I am an hour late dragging myself out to the coops. :(
I better get to it before there is a riot.

Thanks, Moly! I'm OK though, really. I know those little d'uccles are difficult. The first time I got chicks (from MPC) I had 6 mixed and two were d'uccles and one didn't make it.

It's my fault--at least partially--because I didn't have my usual brooder set up (was kind of a last minute impulse thing) and made a kinda of ghetto brooder that wasn't optimal. Today I'm going back to my old brooder setup which is way better.

You guys would be proud of me! After I got them settled in I went to TSC to pick up some more food. And they had baby chicks. And there's supposed to be a five chick minimum but the manager said I could just buy one or two if I wanted cuz I told him all about my chickens, lol. I actually resisted the mighty, powerful urge (I NEED BABY CHICKS RIGHT INTO MY VEINS, NOW!!!!) to get a couple more. It was hard.

No, Henny, it's OK, really! It wan't enough time for me to get attached. I am realistic about this kind of thing, I know the little fragile ones die. With babies I try to give it some time before I get attached, ya know?

I just feel bad cuz I know it was my fault, most likely, and I know better to not have the perfect brooder setup in advance. That's what I get for being too impatient...

Did I tell you guys I rehomed my cockerel, Tio, yesterday? This nice, crazy chicken lady and her partner (I think) adopted him. They have a flock of 6 hens that needed a roo. They showed me pics of their hens and from the way they talk it's obvious they love their chickens. I hope he likes his new home.

Now I just have three roos (my two Serama boys, who are bonded) and Skinny Pete, AKA Freakfoot, who will be going in with the big girls in a few days. And that is plenty of males for me!

Good morning friends.

Day/night 2 with cat issues.
:barnie:barnie:he:he:he:he

Any suggestions on building the better cone of shame for a cat?

Once the anesthetic swore off it turns out Sam is actually Houdini. Currently have it rigged to a teeny tiny puppy harness/vest and even still it buys me maybe 5 minutes before he’s got it off.

I can’t see these stitches lasting through the day at this rate.

i hate migraines. So glad for you that it’s passed.
Be sure to hydrate really well today to keep a rebound headache away.
