Oh and @staceyj will be proud of me. I did as little as I possibly could while still moving the chickens.

I let DH and FIL catch all the chickens in the coop and I told them where they should go. I only touched the chickens when I was sorting the Dark Cornish girls then I just grabbed them by their tails from the holding pen and told DH and FIL where to move them. I grabbed them because I knew which one I wanted to grab and I have the longest arms. I also stayed in the garage where the winter coop is when the storm started and let DH and FIL move chickens in the rain. I waited for the worst of the rain to let up and walked back to to farmhouse with a towel over my head.

You all know I have a crooked beak Orpington.....and that she had mites.

She also failed to not last fall.

She is nearly naked now.

And ya know what.......:hmm........her entire body is out of whack.
Her neck is not centered, her left wing is farther forward and higher than her right.

It is like the whole right side was pushed down and back a bit.

She is my little hunchback. ;)
Around here she'd be absolutely normal.:lau
You named her dead on though!

It sounds like a bone development issue in general.

I had a Delaware like that. Cross beak and when I processed him, his carcass was out of Whack too

He still tasted good though

It is amazing what fluffy feathers can hide.

As long as she maintains weight she can stay.

She is just about weird enough to be a pet here. :lau

Poor nakie hunchback with a crooked face. :hugs

I can't keep cockerels and no one would take him except to eat him.

Squatcher roll call!! Hope everyone is staying safe.

Doing good here.

@Sassysouth You should see a small weight gain in a few days with the more solid food. Between that and her eating on her own, she should pick up weight steadily until she's at here healthy body size. If you can, try not to tube feed except for medication. Fill her crop once a day if she's eating some on her own, fill it twice daily if she doesn't have anything, or very little in it for the entire day for 2 consecutive days. Once she's eating decently on her own, you can taper off on the amount you're giving her and then just monitor her weight. As long as she's gaining steadily she's good.
