Still a pain. As soon as the babies are weaned i'm going to process the adults.
Are you going to keep breeding them, or are you about done with them?

I would love to! It is cold and raining here.

Dealing with doctors and vague answers here today.
Hubs had a standard test relating to his blood pressure meds........stupid person calling him with "results" was laughing on the phone when she told him his glucose reading is 564. Seriously that is NOT funny.
She didn't give him any other numbers. I know that 564 is freaking scary high.
He got ticked since she had no info except that and the stress that created. Not to mention the laughing. So not professional.
She couldn't even tell him if he needed to see his doctor. Seriously. :hmm That reading is 4X what "normal" should be. Telling someone to see their doctor should be an easy answer.
That's ridiculous. Even if she was laughing about something that was happening where she was, her job is to be professional. x2 what Rae said. Def talk to the dr about it.
And if his blood sugar is that high, he might need to go to the er. Do you guys have a way to test his blood sugar? I hope it was just a mistake & she's an idiot. If it is, that's another thing to talk to the dr about. If she can't do her job, she shouldn't be working there. That said, I hope everything is ok and you get it all figured out. She should have put him on hold and asked the dr if she didn't know. Next time, I'd def ask to talk to someone else.

That is very high!

Is he on diabetes meds? What was the A1C? Along with sugar that high, there would usually be high triglyceride numbers too.

Go to Walmart and grab a glucometer off the shelf. They should be accurate enough to tell him if he needs to go to the ER.
They are fairly inexpensive but if there is insurance coverage, it will help with the strips. The strips can be pricey

I had my midwives freaking out a bit over fasting numbers between 100-110 before I started managing with diet. A number close to 600 is freaking dangerous.

Two things he can do to help without changing his diet. Drop caffeine (it makes you more glucose intolerant) and drink 60-100oz of water a day.

I know. It is a horrible reading.

I told him to stay away from sodas and candy today and I will buy a meter so we can get readings at home.

He is a soda and candy nut.

He has not been officially diagnosed as diabetic yet.
Another reason that test result should have been handled much differently.

I am heading to Wal-Mart soon to pick up a meter.

We don't have insurance.
We will get through it all. We always do.

Oh heck yeah. I have to test 4x a day and it is about $10 for 50 strips.

But even paying $30-60 out of pocket up front is a really good idea if he has problems that bad.
