The chicks are the reason there are so many pet Greys! But, they grow up into terrible teenagers @ about age 5. They are much slower to mature than chickens! Dylan is 25 now, laying well, nice adult. She could live into her 60's to 80's, no real reliable statistics. But some documented Greys in their 80's. That's why I did not need to get a chick!
Wow, my friend's mom has a macaw and he's the worst. Not sure how old he is, but she had him 20 years ago. He chased me upstairs and on to a table. He hates me with a passion. Her mom has put it in her will that my friend gets the bird when she dies.. My friend has no kids so IDK who's going to end up w/ it after she's gone b/c it sounds like it'll probably outlive everyone. He's beautiful, but a turd. I'd like to say he's gotten better, but he was still a jerk when I saw last saw him a few years ago.

Just like some people, they can get even more annoying as they get older!

Good morning! Another nice day even if it is a little cool out there right now. About to go put the kids in the tractor, they're getting close to just letting them run size.
I still have a few teeny tinys, Stacey, Dooneese, Kim, Barb and Prince can all still fit through the fence. Dick, Henry and Kiwi are plenty big though.:)

The nice people get even nicer, also! Birds have no inhibitions and are completely honest, so we can see what they think more than with a person, sometimes.:)

So true! I find animals in general much easier to understand.......no lies in their communication. If they don't like someone they make it pretty clear.

All is well in Bitty's world. :)
Those kids scream about e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. :gig

Lots to do outside and it's getting hot already.
I am putting plants in the ground and seeds too.
:fl That the critters don't get them.

Lol! Derp babies are like those really loud, wild kids you see in the store and just kind of roll your eyes at.
Just wait until the feathers really start popping out and they're uncomfortable....oh lord.:caf

I think birds are pretty much people who just have free rule to bite if they feel like it and poop where they want.
I am also convinced some are just either naturally nice or the devil in bird form. I have bad luck and the worst picking skills in the universe so i'll probably never have a parrot or seriously long lived bird.
If I could have the bird do the picking it would be better, it would probably outlive me it is really more picking me out as a pet.:D

I am hoping they liven up that coop. Those giant cochins are LAAAAAZZZZZYYYY birds.

Miss May doesn't seem to mind when a kid hides under her skirt.
