I want to fuzzy that funny hair!!!! :love:love:love

Well, we had some progress today. It seems that my septic contractor has been bugging the telephone company so much that they sent a supervisor out here today to see if there is any way to get the buried phone line out of the way of the septic field and how much it would cost. Well, they look at how the junction box is set up and said "Well, that's illegal." Which means they are going to have to eat most of the cost associated with getting the buried line out of the way. It sounds like we may only have to pay for the cable, which they are going to pay to have strung over 3 power poles to get it out of the way (it is cheaper than reburying the line). They didn't give us an estimate, but hopefully things get moving soon.

That is awesome news!!! :wee

You're going to have a nice variety of colors. How long til they get there?

Oops, I forgot to say in the original post that not all of these birds will be staying with me, only the Derps and Russian Orloffs. I couldn't meet the minimum order requirement by myself, so I got my MIL and my father to split an order with me. BUT I get to raise all the chicks for the first couple weeks before sending some of them to their new home. I am looking forward to getting lots of chick snuggling time :D

They are coming June 13 or 14th!!! :ya

I feed grower, broiler (unmedicated) to my flock all the time and any chick feed (unmedicated) at the end of the hatching season. I don't know if the medication would harm adult birds. I know TSC sells unmedicated organic chick feed.

Last year I could not find unmedicated for love or money. TSC was sold out of it for most of the season :(

yes
the amproll will not hurt them
I feed chicken broodies with poults medicated turkey starter.

eta and I usually feed organic or non gmo feed, but poults tend to die for no reason when it's damp or humid and hot.. classic coccidiosis symptom ...except no the bloody poo

If they couldn't all mine would be dead. We are going through a 25lb bag of medicated promana because it was all there was. I can't keep the bigs out of the little food or vice versa it is just a big free for all out there. :)

YAY! Thank you both!!!! That means I can buy the big bag straight from the mill :yesss:

I love her :love

That is FANTASTIC news Rae! Fingers crossed it doesn't cost you much.

You me and Henny can all practice our Derp Dash together this year :hugs
The struggle is real, you'll see. It is adoreable but they abuse the scream they love, love, love for you to come chase stuff away for them. They will eventually start doing it themselves, no kidding.:lau

Ohhhhhh!! They have you in training! :gig

Not sure. :hmm I probably would not give it just in case.

:pop Y'all can do the jogging. I will trust Bitty to put a stop to any shifty carp going on. :lau
They've HAD me trained a while now. Bitty is robbing you of valuable excercise, little stinker! :gig

Don't be too quick to pity me. Once outside they are too far away for me to hear from inside the house (though I am sure I won't be able to resist peaking in on them throughout the day though, so there is that). You should really pity that poor rooster of mine. Dude is in for a seriously confusing summer :lau

Lol!! I am out that door at least 200 times a day as it is taking dogs out, letting dogs in, to the greenhouse, to the garden and then and the chicken checks.

I wouldn't bet on not hearing them. Those kids have serious lung power!

I went to check on the littles and top off their food. I open the crate door and they all come flying out. Some literally flying! But who saunters in to check on them with me...
