Question for you all: can adult birds eat medicated chick crumble? It is hard to find un-medicated feed around here. And if I get the medicated chick feed that is freshly milled (my preference), I have to buy 50lbs. I was thinking of sharing it with the bigs so that it doesn't get old/stale but wanted to check if that is ok.

I feed grower, broiler (unmedicated) to my flock all the time and any chick feed (unmedicated) at the end of the hatching season. I don't know if the medication would harm adult birds. I know TSC sells unmedicated organic chick feed.

Next time I hatch five derps at once kick me dead in the butt.
Iv'e went out for so many screams it isn't funny and it has always been birds or Bob.
Iv'e got to check though and I think they know it. :hmm

Ohhhhhh!! They have you in training! :gig

eta and I usually feed organic or non gmo feed, but poults tend to die for no reason when it's damp or humid and hot.. classic coccidiosis symptom ...except no the bloody poo

Well, we had some progress today. It seems that my septic contractor has been bugging the telephone company so much that they sent a supervisor out here today to see if there is any way to get the buried phone line out of the way of the septic field and how much it would cost. Well, they look at how the junction box is set up and said "Well, that's illegal." Which means they are going to have to eat most of the cost associated with getting the buried line out of the way. It sounds like we may only have to pay for the cable, which they are going to pay to have strung over 3 power poles to get it out of the way (it is cheaper than reburying the line). They didn't give us an estimate, but hopefully things get moving soon.

If they couldn't all mine would be dead. We are going through a 25lb bag of medicated promana because it was all there was. I can't keep the bigs out of the little food or vice versa it is just a big free for all out there. :)
