Is the cx going to be processed?
:drool Looks like it's almost time!

well I didn't word it properly
The black chick is the cx mix... the white bird is the broody mama
Still the black chick is 2-3x as big as the dark cornish.. May 7th was hatch date.
most likely the black cockerel will be processed in 9-11 wks

Probably my fault, I ASS-umed the big white bird to be the CX! I like the idea of a side-by-side shot like that at the time you process, (maybe I should say these things only on the meat threads? We are all friends here Squatching, right?)

The white hen is part CX . So you were right LOL
I only had one Cornish hatched out of 23 shipped eggs, bad air cells and my first time with shipped eggs. They were packed well so I don't blame the breeder.
He will be a breeder for as long as possible. Most expensive bird I probably will ever own :he

From what I can read, having never hatched with an incubator, even the best hatcheries only hatch 85%. Here is an interesting link: https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/vm101
Combine that with what some postal employees do to shipped packages of any kind, and I think I will stick to ordering shipped chicks. I had great success with boxes of chicks -- but that was a long time ago. I am seriously temped to drive to some of the breeders locally and get eggs someday, though! I ended up with a home in an area that will not allow roosters, so not breeding my own chickens. Shipped chicks, and maybe local eggs for me. But, there are some very cool ducks I want to check out, which do not crow!

Good morning! :)
Dapper Dick! He needs a bow tie.
He needs a bow tie and an a** whooping! That little chucklehead was chasing Beavis full grown Beavis this morning and she was running from the punk! :barnie

Morning folks :frow

When I made the decision to start selling live birds, I was totally terrified. This time out goes a long way on getting me past that.
Seem to remember some magnificent beast of woman told you that you could do it....wish I could remember who that was. :D

Aside from the Dickscapades Marlene was having an off morning, she let me pick her up that is always a bad sign.
Anyways, we went through the normal "how ya doin" grope felt butt, breast, legs, everything felt O.K. so on to stage two, fat hen massage.
FHM went well she likes it when she feels bad, basically rubbing her underside and supporting her weight a little bit did that for ten maybe fifteen minuites and she was back to mean Marlene.
I have no idea what goes on with her. I do know she is muuuch heavier than she used to be.:hmm
