Very good explanation of why the Cornish-X is the one most folks prefer to raise for meat, in one photo.Cornish on left, cx mix on right. Hatched same day

Most hatcheries also sell fertile eggsOtherwise, the hatcheries would just ship eggs -- eggs are much too fragile to survive the Post Office! Chicks are already survivors, they survived being an egg and hatched.
Is the cx going to be processed?Cornish on left, cx mix on right. Hatched same day

Quite true. I see a lot of guys on here trying to hatch shipped eggs, with varying degrees of success . . .Most hatcheries also sell fertile eggs
Is the cx going to be processed?
Is the cx going to be processed?
Looks like it's almost time!
Probably my fault, I ASS-umed the big white bird to be the CX! I like the idea of a side-by-side shot like that at the time you process, (maybe I should say these things only on the meat threads? We are all friends here Squatching, right?)well I didn't word it properly
The black chick is the cx mix... the white bird is the broody mama
Still the black chick is 2-3x as big as the dark cornish.. May 7th was hatch date.
most likely the black cockerel will be processed in 9-11 wks
The white hen is part CX . So you were right LOLProbably my fault, I ASS-umed the big white bird to be the CX! I like the idea of a side-by-side shot like that at the time you process, (maybe I should say these things only on the meat threads? We are all friends here Squatching, right?)
From what I can read, having never hatched with an incubator, even the best hatcheries only hatch 85%. Here is an interesting link: https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/vm101The white hen is part CX . So you were right LOL
I only had one Cornish hatched out of 23 shipped eggs, bad air cells and my first time with shipped eggs. They were packed well so I don't blame the breeder.
He will be a breeder for as long as possible. Most expensive bird I probably will ever own![]()
He needs a bow tie and an a** whooping! That little chucklehead was chasing Beavis full grown Beavis this morning and she was running from the punk!Dapper Dick! He needs a bow tie.
Seem to remember some magnificent beast of woman told you that you could do it....wish I could remember who that was.Morning folks
When I made the decision to start selling live birds, I was totally terrified. This time out goes a long way on getting me past that.
