That's good to know. Chickens will eat anything (except Chicky's birds and bananas).
Lead paint is supposed to be tasty, that is what my grandma said anyway. She didn't eat it but dutch boy gave school kids little tins of paint and some of the hungrier ones did partake. Update on the banana paradox. I have one single child that will eat the hell out of a banana. My little Prince gets the googly eyes and beak smacks. :)

He keeps making a weird noise. Like a sneeze but sorta a crow.... I’d like to stop the diarrhea. Concentrating on that at the moment. He has to be dehydrated from all the pooping. Maybe that’s giving him his other problems.
He won't like it but 1/2 tsp of immodium will shut his butt.
Can't stress enough, he won't like it. ;)

lead paint is sweet to the taste..... Badd.

Someone gave me a very expensive Aviary because she had hook bills. it was galvanized. supposedly not enough but it made her bird sick.

Not good. People dont know how much power those hook bills can apply to their chewing.

I now have enough Aviary wire to bullet proof my Next coop build. The wire is ten guage by three by one half spacing... I cant get my fingertips into it enough to carry a panel about. I have to use home made hooks to handle one six foot by four foot panel. Anything that can get through is edible.

Yep that is exactly what she said, that it was sweet. Blows my mind how things were back then, just a bunch of kids snacking on free lead paint.
She'd also talk about kids getting rabies and chewing their books.
Woman lived in interesting times for sure. :)

Nunny, no words hon.
They're touching butts with all our lost ones in chicken heaven.
They have plenty of company just from all of us.
I appreciate all the suggestions and thoughts but Jr seized in my arms and died. Made one final sad noise and that was it. I just pet him and told it was ok.

So 3 birds in 3 days...I’m done. No more losses. I just can’t take it.

My bird vet tests Dylan's blood every year at the Bird Annual Physical -- and she asked me if Dylan likes bananas, because the potassium level in her blood was too high. Dylan hates bananas, so she was worried. Later when I got home, I remembered she was having a bite of my potato salad the day before her visit to the vet. It is possible for a bird to OD on bananas (or potatoes). Vet told me to limit high potassium treats, that bird kidneys are not great at excreting it.

A lot longer ago than that, before we discovered sugar cane and sugar beets, The Romans made a sweet syrup using lead.

I am sorry for your loss!

Can you send one in for necropsy? That could help with treatment options for the others
