I have a question.....I got 3 new chickens on Aug 3. 2 Cochin Bantams and CCL. They were about 6 weeks when I got them. Will they start to lay yet this winter or will I have to wait til spring?

So that makes them about 20 weeks now? I might see some eggs in the next month or two, but I've heard Cochins are late layers.

If they are like my July kids from last summer they should start to lay very soon after winter solstice. Literally mine started the day after solstice last year.

Mine were hatched July 21.

I'm going to share some weirdness, i was about to slice a tomato and i noticed it had these little horn things on it i was like whaaat? I cut it open and the horns were little tomato plants trying to bust through. This wasn't an old tomato but it was filled with seedlings all warped and wonky but seedlings. I'm still trying to figure it out, i know that's how you get more tomatoes but I've never seen it happen quite like that.

Stick the whole thing in a pot of soil and see what happens!

My BC was a late layer but she is a good layer. I would expect they won't lay until March

Weird! Was that a normal mango or one of those yellow ones? Did it look normal outside?

Completely normal on the outside. The pit was cracked open at the top so I pried it open. So weird.

Sounds like you have another week to go. Do you use Nyquil? I find it helps me sleep when i am sick.
