Wow is all I can say about your bossSo while I was on vaca my boss called me twice, tried to.. I didn't answer. That p*ssed me off. I never take real time off. She complained off and on for a few weeks before I left that I was leaving, then was all "what if something happens while you're gone?" and I told her to put an out of order sign on it. "What if a server goes down?" use a laptop & I'll deal with it when I get back. She kept giving me carp and I told her Ok, You take my kid to her dance competition (WHICH I PUT A TIME OFF REQUEST FOR IN FEBRUARY!!!) and I'll stay here. Then she gave me attitude saying she's already got a kid she's dealing with (He's my age & he lives w/ her b/c they're not comfortable w/ her living alone at this point). So the last week before I leave she gets worse. The director told her she'd be doing my notices while I'm going (3 days), plus a failed text report that comes out on Mondays, and daily failed email notices. This is not hard or complicated, but since she can't remember anything it makes it harder. She was mad they're making her do it and kept complaining to me. When am I supposed to have time to this?! I guess I'm doing your stuff while you're gone. [Huff] - Mind you, I did her stuff while she was gone for 2 whole weeks and never complained once. I have 8 weeks of vacation still... Apparently her opinion is that I shouldn't ever get to take off, unless I still come in to do my stuff b/c it interferes w/ her not doing her job. Mind you I've been waiting almost a year for her to order me ANYTHING. So things have been slowly boiling up. Then this past weekend she called on Saturday. To ask me about something (circ printer wouldn't print, but had printed earlier in the day) that I didn't care about that could have totally been taken care of today (and was, by me, b/c she couldn't figure it out). And when I told her what I did to fix it (copied the property folder over from another computer) she acted like I should have found another solution a different way b/c it didn't tell her why the problem happened. I don't care why. It's fixed and that's all that matters. I'm doing way more stuff than I should, combined with the fact that I am not paid nearly as much as I should be, with the fact that she won't do her job, but if I even speak to someone else she's running over to see why they're talking to me. I was talking to the director last monday (my first day back after my vaca) and he was telling me about something that'd changed w/ a project while I was gone and she hunted me down and shooed me out to do something that she had been told to do while I was gone, but didn't & then left it for me. It was creating an email address for a new employee.. she has done it before, but she can't remember anything so she let it sit til I got back. HR (who is also the asst dir) was not happy when I handed her the paper. This is all on top of me contacting the Union rep telling him I'm super underpaid and would like them to do something about it & him basically replying that everyone's underpaid and I should come to the union meetings if I wanted something to change. Um.. excuse me, but that's YOUR job. I'm already doing a job I'm not getting paid for. So yeah... I'm so done. I have 4 years before the little one graduates and I was going to stay til then, but at this point I'm ready to move on now. I'm hoping that I can put in my 2 weeks, and be able to walk out the door on my last day and watch as a delivery truck pulls up to drop of a couple dozen computers that won't get set up b/c I'm not there.
Oh wow.. I hope the chicken is ok.. if they're blocked too long they'll die from it. Can't someone convince them to take the poor thing to a vet?
Yay for a new vacuum! I felt the same way when I got my new vacuum. I cleaned the floors in each room repeatedly and reveled in the amount of cust and stuff it picked up. That's how you know you're an adult.. you get excited about a vacuum.
That looks amazing! Great job. You've got some major skills.
that's a lot of work and my vacuum hose would never reach. I put one of those swiffer duster thingies on the end of a dowel rod so I can reach up into corners, but I have to check for little spiders first.
Those are some beautiful birds.
That sounds like how mine acted after I put that window in. Like something was going to break in and kill them all. They all moved roosts and no one wanted to be by it. It had hardware wire framed w/ 1x2, all screwed in and siliconed around it. Nothing is getting in... but I'm sure they appreciated the cross breeze when it was 95 last weekend. (they've since adapted, I think).
So you're saying he won that game of hide and seek? Glad you found him. Hopefully he's learned his lesson.
Sorry about your chick. Might want to make sure you clean everything really well before you bring home the new baby.
That thing looks horrible. I think we have those around here, or something like them. I hope you got them all now.
Oh no! You can't catch a break, can you? I hope he's ok and everything heals well. Does he know how it happened so he can avoid it, or was it a freak accident?
Wow, you are cold blooded. Hopefully you got them all. I think those little monsters are super fast a building those nests b/c they go from nothing to swarm in a matter of days. And this hot weather isn't helping.
Ugh... maybe suggest he keep looking for something better. Stepping stones. Use me as a cautionary tale of what happens to people who stay at a job that they'd be much better off to leave.
Wow, that's ballsy. My go to for people trying to borrow $$ is I'm sorry, but I don't have any extra cash right now. Totally the truth, but people like to guilt you into feeling sorry for them. Never loan $$ that you can't live w/o b/c you'll never see it again. His son is obviously loaning him the $, but he doesn't want his son to get upset when he doesn't pay him back, but he's ok w/ getting the $ from you instead.
