I had wanted to put a wood shed up on cinder blocks. Would add some height but also stop the poo and everything from getting on the wood itself and rotting it. Then I was going to leave it as dirt and deep litter right in the coop.
I never know though. Things sound good in my head then turn into a disaster. LOL

I think it is totally doable as a coop. Framing so you could have roosts can be done in a way to also add strength and rigidity. And without a giant ton of cutting wood.

So you're coming to ohio when? I'll make sure to get the spare room ready! :D

Lol I can't leave. No one here will take care of my birds at all.
Then there are the dogs.

I will definitely help walk you through things. Yup much harder than loading up my tools and being there. :hugs

I know how that goes. Someone recently offered me vacation in FL for a week. Not only would that be a week unpaid but who would take care of everything? 2 dogs-3 cats- I'll round and say 40 chickens. LOL

This is the used coop I bought. Going to rip out the interior nest boxes and perches. I already scraped out the floor and started painting the interior.

I can hardly wait to get it fixed up and put chickens in it.

Bitty and the kids are in the corner again.

I got 2 eggs from that coop which is HUGE since Peanut the egg eater is in there.

I am seeing a very red comb and near squatting from the other green layer. Either Cassie is an awesome layer giving me an egg each day since she started laying (except skipped the day after her first egg) or I have both laying.
I look forward to the blue layers starting up. :pop
