Lizbeth has finally started to lay again. She had been keeping in solidarity with Gurtrude after we realized she could never be allowed to try to lay again. In the past week we've gotten 3 eggs and a fart (egg). I was so happy when she gave the first egg, it is the first one this year. She was very loyal to Gurtrude's reproductive system. I'm glad she's back on her own schedule again.

Neighbor had trapper get the coons that were in house walls. They were going under the deck. Trapper put plastic coated hardware cloth up the deck and as apron. My dog alerted me and I found they had gone through the hwc

A chicken with lips?!
For your viewing pleasure, though I think it's been shared here before:

The problem with Lyme disease is it can recur, kind of like Malaria. Plus since I live in the woods, I am likely to get bitten by more ticks. He said the other tick borne diseases are treated by the same antibiotics, so no need to test for those. I did read that you may also contract Guillaume Barre syndrome . ? Sp.
Ticks are terrible. I read about a young girl who got tick paralysis recently. Horrible little parasites. I know things eat them, but do we REALLY need them on this planet?

I know. :(

Noisy birds or ticks?? I would be having the birds.
IDK... since the chickens we haven't really seen many ticks. The cats would get them, but they go into the weeds & woods.

Went and checked the peach tree. :celebrate

Some are ready!! And HUGE!!

Hubby picks things to green I had to smack his hand and tell him the point of a garden is being able to get thing ripe not green.
:hmm Might need to clarify cause most cucumbers ARE green. :lau
Yay! When my oldest was little we had a strawberry patch and she'd help pick berries and they'd always be white or pink. I couldn't get her to understand that the ripe ones were red. I probably should have had her taste a white one..

Isn't it nice when they stop being freeloaders?
How's Gurtrude doing? I wonder if it's similar to human women being on the same cycle, so the hormones that kept Gurtrude from laying also affected Lizbeth in a way.
