I found a molting hen dead in a nest last night after sunset.
It was' Lucky' who 2 years ago survived a hawk attack and spent the winter in the living room. At least she had 2 extra years.
I only have a couple with names.

:hugs I am sorry Mo.

She definitely was lucky to have those 2 additional years.

Well, I had a really fun night last night. We got Thing 1 down and I went into the bedroom to nurse the Milk Drinker to sleep while DH puttered around in the kitchen. When I laid the Milk Drinker down I was going to get a snack and veg in front of my computer for a bit. When I came out of the bedroom the first thing I noticed was how humid it was. I walk into the kitchen and I see water flowing off the counter and onto the floor and the floor is covered in water. My husband had accidentally left the water running to fill a pot and our sink stopper is really dumb and has a habit of slipping into “stopped up” when you don’t want it too. We must have had 20 gallons of water on the floor. We used every towel in the house twice (I ran sodden ones through a spin cycle to wring them out to use again). The laundry room had 1/4 inch of water pooled in there and we had to putt the washer and dryer out from the wall to dry underneath them. While we were moving the dryer out, my middle finger on my left hand got pinched between the dryer and the back door knob. It is bruised and sore but I have full range of motion. I don’t think it is broken.

what they say about kids and time change is true. Both Thing one and this Milk Drinker were up around 1:30am (I don’t know which 1:30 it was, not that it matters much. The Milk Drinker woke again at 3:30 and then woke for good at 4:45. I’m so tired. We’ve spent the morning so far getting the house put back together and folding laundry. I doubt we are going to church today. DH hasn’t been feeling well for a week (the accompanying brain fog is what primarily caused the flood) and I’m just wrung out.

Good morning Bob!

For real....glitter shoes are fun. :D
I have been known to shop he kids shoe section. Mostly the boys department......cause they tend to last longer.
I don't think glittery fun shoes should be just for kids. ;)

Morning Bob. You are up early.
:frow
I like the glitter bombs and being close to the holidays it is the perfect time for sparkle shoes.:D

:frow Yup, forgot about the time change until I was already awake. :th
Well I was unaware as a mofo....thanks Bob.:p

Wow it’s been quiet in here today. I had a relatively relaxing day, but still got a good bit done. We got all the towels we mopped the water up with last night washed and put away, as well as the rest of the laundry. DH got most of the dishes done, without flooding anything. And I cooked sausage and apples for dinner. I still feel relatively crappy, but it isn't even 8pm yet and both boys are in bed! I'm thinking I may hit the hay early tonight myself, especially since they both will probably be up early again tomorrow.
