So, we've been kinda busy today! Made the mushroom risotto with peas and onions. See pic:
The taste was on point, yet it seemed to be past al dente 15 minutes in... and I hadn't even gotten half the broth in! Not sure why, as the heat wasn't too high, and I added the hot broth a 1/2 cup at a time. I definitely will either cut the recipe in half next time, or use a bigger pot, as I don't think the broth got to evaporate or soak in as slowly as it should have.
PICs BFF, our next door neighbor (he is 11, and we call him Deuce since he is like our 2nd son) came over this afternoon to spend the night. He brought over a venison tenderloin from an 8 point buck he shot 2 weeks ago. He was just SO PROUD, and wanted to teach me how to cook it.

Of course, I cooked it and he loved it. Him and the PIC sat in the living room, playing food critics like they watch on Food Network! OMG!!!!
I don't really have any favorite Xmas movies. Guess I really am a party pooper.
Went to
TSC to pick up 150# of starter/grower for all the fine ladies.. and Holy (our only sexed male), and of course they only had 1 bag in stock. Somehow we seriously lucked in to getting the friendliest damn
TSC on the planet... we were sold 5 of the 20# bags at 2 of the 50# bags price. Whooopieeeee!! At least I know none of the chickies will starve.
Tired and want to go to sleep, but I am having some serious back pain... AND I usually never sleep when the boys are *camping out* in the living room. They tend to take video game shifts, where one is asleep and one plays video, then they switch and I find the other one asleep and the other playing video. It would be funny if it wasn't so tiring...
