Birds are all tended and good. It is amazing to see Crooky in full feathers. She spent most of the summer looking largely plucked.
I put them on a 20% protein feed a month ago. They all look better.

A high of 45° is forecast. It should be a good day to clean coops. We have a storm coming this weekend. I like a clean dry coop even more when a storm is coming.
Getting a chance to clean them has been challenging with old and sick dogs.

Speaking of dogs.....
Tilly ate a full serving with little coaxing this morning.
:wee
Jack is hanging in there. He is figuring out that it is easier to get up if he lays on a raised bed or even just a thick blanket.

River is still a turd. Kitty is still not amused.
:weeglad she is eating

My dog has a hole dug under a bush. He can get out if he is all the way in, but if just his back end is in he has some problems

Our weather guy was not correct for my specific area. We are actually 16°.

Birds are tended and doing well.
Tilly ate kibble....even if I had to present it in my hand. She ate a real serving size.
:yesss:

Jack is still hanging in there.
River is less of a turd so far.
Delilah is Delilah. Happy to be outside with her favorite ball.
Sable snubbed food this morning but whatever. She will eat later.

I really need to clean the coops, get groceries, and put gas in my car. Not things I can do with all the dog issues here. :hmm
Maybe my son will be home on time today......
Glad she's doing so much better!

Nope, we have 13 acres.
Oh wow. Then you've got loads of room to spread out. I bet they prefer to be separated into smaller groups rather than being in one big coop, keeps the fighting down.

The nice thing is that I have a guaranteed pension so I do not have to worry too much about job stability
Same! Even if I leave here I'll still have my pensions sitting there until I retire. I've got about 18 years until I'll get my full pension no matter what. I'm not sure how exactly it'd work out if I did leave and got a job where I'd be paying into SS, but until I see where things are going now, I guess it won't matter enough to check into it.

Hi! Doing great now! I feel like the last six weeks has been nothing but deadlines (for both school and work), stress, and too much caffeine. Finished the last major school thing last week though and am slowly getting caught up on the much neglected other aspects of my life.

Tad the beardie decided she was done with winter hibernation at the beginning of Dec. I am excited to have her back among the waking! Even if she is being very naughty. Even managed to escape her tank a week or so ago  I'll get my revenge though. I bought her a tiny Santa hat :D Hoshi the gecko is a hoot. Terrible at climbing but tries so hard. Been keeping me company when I stay up late writing.

How are you? New career as a chicken beautician?
Your photos are adorable! Much easier to photograph lizards b/c they don't move as fast as chickens. I bet she just loves her little Santa hat.

Ziva passed away this morning. I went over to check on her and she was lying in the cage on her side. I tried to get her into the vet to have her euthanized to reduce her suffering, but before they could even come into the room she had passed away. I considered just holding her and waiting a bit in case she was just going to pass, but the vet is 1/2 hr away & I didn't want to wait and end up having to take her anyway & her having to suffer longer. They said it might have been something respiratory or a parasite that weakened her and she wasn't able to fight off an illness. I'm going to worm the others tonight w/ the horse stuff. I still think it may have been internal laying, but I'm going to keep an eye on the others. She mentioned a dewormer call Prevent or something like that. Has anyone heard of it? Of course I can't find anything when I google.

I am so sorry Apryl. At least she was in a warm safe environment with someone that loved her when she passed.

You should ask @casportpony about the wormer

I am sorry to hear bout Ziva!

Thanks everyone. She was a good bird even though she was kind of a turd. She was the one who liked to follow Olive around and peck at her butt feathers. All my friendly birds are dying.

Maybe that's what she meant. That's the kind I have, but I don't think it's apple flavored. I'm just going to put some on bread & dose them all. She might have said something else, but at the time I wasn't exactly memorizing what she said.
