It is ok. My old guy isn't in pain anymore. I miss him but there really was no other choice.

I felt the same way about Jasmine. Things were so bad & I knew it was time that I couldn't just let it continue anymore.

I just let Molasses (my avatar) go with the 4 Blue Cochin girls I sold today.

He was my favorite rooster. I got $30 for the 4 girls who will be 2 years old in Feb and I got $20 for him. He’ll be 3 in Jan. The lady who got him will baby him and hatch eggs from him. I’m fine with him going because I’m not going to be breeding them and he keeps getting beat up by other roosters. He’ll be the only rooster she has.

It is really a happy thing for him. He gets to be the only male. He gets to pass on his good rooster genes. He will get to be spoiled.

I know you will miss him.

I plan to downsize. I want to keep 15 or fewer birds. If I cannot give away my older broody birds I will have to freezer camp them.

Stupid bank. They wouldn't cash my check from Canada, even though it's drawn on a US bank and I have an account with them.
Stupid post office wanted to charge me $50 to ship a 4 pound box!
On the plus side, I got medication that I think will help me get better, and my prescriptions and grocery items were free!
