Hi peeps. Sad news. My aunt passed away last night. She’s been a type 1 diabetic for more than 40 years she’s had multiple kidney and pancreas transplants (only one pancreas was successful) that gave her relief from her diabetes for quite a few years. However a few years back her last transplants failed and she’s been on dialysis since. She’d been in the hospital for the past week or so with heart problems. They brought her home on hospice yesterday and she passed early this morning.

I’ll have to name one of the fluff butts that hatched after her.

I forgot how stinky freshly hatched chicks are. Maybe putting them on my dining room table wasn’t the best idea.

The stinky fluff-butts have been evicted to the back deck in a Rubbermaid tote with a heater plate. We’ll move them to the stationary coop with the hatchery chicks once they have their legs under them and are eating well.
