Going somewhere nearby requires a 15 min drive for me. I don't have that kind of time to waste on people who can't be on time. Only 3/10 are on time.

I seriously wonder if that hen will still be broody and willing to set eggs when they get to her.

LOL, do you trust this person with your eggs? I hear that shipped eggs are difficult to hatch, and someone who can't understand that you need an address to ship them . . .:barnie

Got a big coon up a tree last evening, not sure what sex it.... It fell in a PI patch and I have not retrieved it yet.....and one in the box trap this morning, non nursing yearling female. ...

The lone poult has been abandoned by it's 5 mothers....with 14 hens I would think one would take it.
At dark the 5 mothers were high in a tree and it was screaming for somebody to keep it warm. They had been in the coop the last few days. It had trouble getting up on the roost 4 ft up. I think it's about 3 wks old. When I caught it no one cared that it was screaming bloody murder. Usually I am flogged by a bunch of hens. I'm wondering if something is wrong with it.
Before when it went by other hens with poults they chased it off.

I am rather impressed with my ducks evening choices. There have only been 2 nights since using the duck house that I have had to shoo them in.

So far the house is not gross with poo in the mornings. Just a quick poo pick up and a bedding fluff each morning.

Their outdoor water dish is a lot more messy. :hmm
I have a plan to fix that up so we will see how that plays out.
They sure do seem to get a kick out of playing in the water dishes.
 
I had another chick hatch with similar issues late yesterday (this one needed help hatching). I switched them to smaller diameter cups because the bowls didn't seem to be working and they had their feet up by their ears. This morning all 3 have their feet under them in the cup. The last hatched chick is standing moderately well without the cup, but not quite stable yet. The other two don't have their feet as far out in front as yesterday, but they aren't there yet. Let's see how cup therapy helps them today.
