:idunnoHow can you call such a tiny little thing a cannon? But check out the fresh water,it only takes 5 minutes to turn it murky.

Here is the tub. I just need a way to plug the drain, something like a big rubber plug. No plumbing, just drain it down into the creek bed you can see behind it.

I vote to plumb a ball valve in. I have seen what the water in my 50 gallon stock tank looks like after just one day......I ain't reaching into that. 🤢🤮

Or get one of those plugs with a chain attached.

What about a chain on it, pull the plug like when we were kids! I have well water sometimes, when we have had rain. That is what I would fill it with. End of duck fun, flush down the wash. Deer come to drink out of it now, if it rains. (it isn't level and will collect water at the back)

These 2 are across the creek from that tub.

If you secure the chain up so it doesn't fall in the water....I would worry about a tangled duck and potential injury or drowning. My ducks all dive and go in crazy circles.

Somehow the quote thing got messy....I think it is still able to be read so.....yeah....not fixing it.

Maybe I will have to experiment -- they sure do love to get in the water! Some of these are Buff ducks, not yellow, but close & they will like having a tub. I liked the photo on here of a guy who make a duck pond out of an old fiberglass boat.

I have seen that and thought it was pretty neat too.

Yes, Henny, I meant Parront.

This is not the least hassle idea, in both work and cost, but might be a decent solution, especially if you have spare stuff around to make it work.

As far as the duck tub drain... Why not set it up with some outflow piping and put a valve on that? It eliminates the hand in dirty water and duck in chain issues, and you can run it to wherever you want the water to go. If you can taper the pipes down incrementally, you can set it up to attach a hose and use the water for things, provided duck poop is a good fertilizer, or run it further away from the tub to reduce mud. In the winter, keep the valve open so there's no ice issue. You would do everything else the same, as far as a screen for the drain to keep rocks and stuff out. A stick will be a necessity as well, the drain will get blocked so you'll need something to move the debris away.
