The forecast for that cold has certainly altered my to do list a bit. This weekend is critters and only critters. I MUST get the duck winter water set up and paint those dadgum windows on the duck house.

We are low 50's this morning. The chicks are all ok.

Next Wednesday River gets spayed and that means at least 2 weeks of it being all dogs for me. No rough housing!
I have a bunch of big windows in the goat house that need sanded and painted. Always a bunch to be done!

On another note... does anyone use a date stamp for their eggs? I would be happy with a 4 digit "09/01" style. I just want to be able to put the date on a dozen or more eggs easily.

I don't but I think it is a great idea.

Hubs green lighted me getting a 4x8 sheet of greenhouse double wall plastic to use on the windows...upgrading from pieces of siding to clear and break resistant to let light in.
:yesss:
Oh and that means a fine tooth saw blade for the circular saw.

I did for a month
Individual eggs are a pain
Cartons are easy, but for me it's easier to date a piece of painters tape and put it on the carton.

So I sometimes get more then a dozen and sometimes less. I swear its never the right number to fill and date cartons. I have several of the large 2 doz count cartons I keep on the counter and thats what I fill. So its nice to have each egg dated. I want a faster way to do it.
But not all Pinterest fancy with the month in cursive and numbers all script.

Could you have a non toxic marker and a different color for each day of the week? I just write the date on one of my eggs and line them up together on a flat egg holder.

I saw several on Amazon, but I didn’t get one because I don’t know why you would really need it.
Why do you need one (in general)?
I understand you need to date the cartons with the “packed on” date, but I don’t really understand that either. It takes at least two days for me to get a dozen. In my mind I would be dating one half of the carton with one date and then the other half with a different date.
