Good morning everyone,

DH is really reconsidering taking this bus driver job. It seems like they want to try to give him a route that starts 37 miles away from where we live and he isn't allowed to take his bus away from the school during the day which effectively leaves him stranded (even though there are laws against forcing bus drivers to be stranded during the school day. Apparently the last person who filed a grievance over that issue was fired over a technicality that most bus drivers ignore and he grievance was never addressed.) for 5-6 hours during the day. That was one reason he started pursuing this job, was he could be home during the middle of the day to help with the kids. He would have to have a second vehicle that he could park at or near his endpoint school in order to come home. But that means BUYING and insuring a second vehicle. My dad is doing the training as well, but is mainly staying on so he can get is CDL. The more we hear, the less we wonder why our county has problems keeping bus drivers.

Yeah that's a deal breaker for me.
What are they thinking
 
We have kind of the opposite issue. We train drivers and then they leave us for others districts because we don’t offer benefits, but we do pay them while to training them. It’s lose/lose for us. He can always ask for a different route. If he’s unsure anyway, he won’t lose anything if they say no.
 
Im back, no big catastrophe I was waiting for a replacement phone.
I had a hard time because I didn't want to spend a stupid amount on one.
Anyways there are going to be two more little additions to the herd.
Im adopting two "pest" bantam something hens.
I was sort of volunteered.:caf
