I am seeking volunteers to close the coops, count birds, dump water dishes, swish the duck water dish heater and put the pool heater in.
It is 24 with a feels like of 9.

No. I gave my carharts away when I dropped 100#'s. I have my extremely huge hoodie and good winter gloves. I am actually not all that bothered by the cold. I just have a big case of don't wanna.
The dogs wore me out today.

NEVER going pink.
Not that being warm is bad but me and pink don't see eye to eye.

Naw. I am ok with just layering if I have to. I saved a couple of my fat pants and can fit my super warm jammies and a pair of sweats inside them.

Well critters are tucked in. I carried water out with me and changed the duck drinking water. That will spare me that part in the morning.
The pool froze over so I broke ice to drop in the heater.
For some reason both Rita and Cassie were in the run instead of the house. Reasonably trained chickens is very helpful. I only had to tell them to go to bed and they did. I am actually a little surprised it worked.

I'm running about 160# of feed a week. A little less most of the time but thats the big birds. I still have chick food and meat birds food I go through too. When they couldn't get outside I was filling food every other day. So about 20# in the big coop alone in a single day. Burbs are eating me out of house and home!

Sort of got a net up. The frames were trashed. The nets I had were tangled and cut. They needed something so I ran cable between the 2 coops and hung the net. Its not perfect and if you look close there are poles with bottles on holding up some sections but they are safe from hawks.
Thanks to who suggested 3T products. Not cheap but its what I wanted and got here super fast.

These 2 have made my days hell recently. They are either red tailed or red shouldered hawks. Big enough that I go outside with my chihuahua when he goes potty. They seem to love my yard in particular. I'm sure the neighbors were thrilled when I was outside finishing up the net and started yelling at the hawks. I was half frozen and beyond done for the day. Then I see them watching me. I couldn't help it and started telling them off.

In other news the post office is beyond backed up and I didn't have my nieces gift for her birthday. Its been sitting in Cleveland 2 weeks now. I'm going to have to contact the company. They sent it UPS to CLE and that was fine. Why they then turned it over to the post office I don't know. I ordered her KiwiCrates for her birthday. She was supposed to get the first one for her birthday then 5 more. Still didn't get the first one soooo.... Its not the companies fault but why switch carriers? UPS delivers to my house.

I yell at Hawks to! In the fall before all the leaves were gone there was five large Hawk sitting in a tree in the neighbor's yard watching us. If I'm standing up and walking around they don't bother me but if I sit down and they can't tell that I'm there than they try to murder my chickens. One tried to get my birds but I didn't even see it until it attacked.
The mail is ridiculous. I ordered an ornament for my kid that was shipped 2 weeks ago. It's been in stow since sunday. I doubt we'll have it for xmas. Her sister's ornament came last week, but is off center. They sent a new one that should be here tomorrow. Companies to use ups to do the Long Haul part of the shipping process and then switch it to UPS for local delivery. I fight with that constantly because my local mail carrier is illiterate and constantly delivers things to the wrong building. The ornament that I haven't received was shipped DHL which transferred it to the post office. I just hope it comes in one piece. Hopefully nobody has made the mistake of ordering chicks or chickens at this point.

I got an appointment with a Cardiologist on the 31st at 8 am in Lynchburg. It will be an early day for me! Will be good to finally find out what's going on.
