I am staying positive about it. I am positive the cold cannot last forever. I am positive there will be spring flowers in 8 weeks or so.
I am looking forward to seeing the snow glories and crocus.

Snow tonight
Went to get gas yesterday, after feed run, and the Shell's pumps were shut down and they were working on the system. I get 13 cents off a gallon, so I didn't get gas elsewhere. I'll try again today.

Ducks and chickens are all doing well with the cold. The resounding request was for the normal warm mash. I was going to skip it due to likely freezing. Who am I to argue with hungry birds?
I made the second trip out with the mash.

One brown pullet egg still slightly warm. One frozen and cracked ducky egg.

I leave a 2 gallon bucket of ff in each coop or run. Well 1 in the main coop and 2 in that run so the turkeys all get to eat.... The feed on the side of the freezes, but the center didn't freeze until 8 hrs of below zero warming to single digits. I thaw it overnight and put that on top of new the next day.
So six 2 gallon buckets

We are now a solid 0°.

I boiled water to take out and thaw the water dishes. Long story short....my dishwasher is delayed but my old one has been pulled out. Hubs had to run to get a part so I can use the hot water faucet.

Turns out I have insane ducks. They bathed in their big water dish. Yup iced up feathers on a couple of them.
