Yesterday while on his way home from work my son was in a pretty bad accident.
He is ok. He is sore but ok.
He was rear ended on the interstate. His car is definitely totalled. He was hit hard enough that the rear of the car is now in front of the rear wheels.
He said traffic had not slowed and he was doing about 65 when hit. I cannot wrap my head around how fast the guy that hit him had to be going.

We all feel like he was super lucky to walk away from it. The other guy and his passengers are ok as well.

I am hoping everyone gets to have a good day today.

It's certainly nutty. We are looking at it that if he had not been exactly where he was when it all happened the other driver would likely still have crashed into someone or something likely with much worse results. His passengers were small children.

If insurance isn't going to cover a rental he will be using my car while things get sorted. I cannot see it being an issue.

He is an excellent driver. He made it to 32 with just one prior accident....he was rear ended in that one too. He has never had a single ticket even. I have no issues letting him use my car at all.

Today HAS to be better.

It certainly was scary. We feel very lucky. While the whole thing is really bad and going to be a pain to deal with at least everyone is ok.
My son has a good paying job and while no one wants to be forced to get a new car at least he CAN get one.

It will be a busy day today. I have to try and get all my errands done that I can. Some I just cannot do until Monday but I have the truck if I really must go somewhere.

Henny,
I couldn't help but do the math in my head... The other driver was going crazy fast to do that damage.
