Official Squatch Watchers

Yep, a couple years back they had a dog yoga class, and I took my Beagle/Jack/alien mix Penny. She's a total spaz, but was really mellow in this class! It was fun. :)
So cute!

The little barred rock chick just stands there. Her right eye is kind of funny, but hard to describe. Like maybe she cannot see with it.

This is the 3rd chick I have had that is slow to grow, doesn’t act right or cries a lot. Is this common??? I didn’t realize chicks were so fragile.

What is the temp in your brooder?
Too hot can cause the slow to grow.

Some chicks are just "failure to thrive" and not much can be done for them.
Do you have nutri drench?

Very excited, just got a piece of cedar to try this sign with the new tool!:celebrate:wee
I had to rip some thick cedar siding from the house when the plumber was here. I saved some scraps, and we have a wood burning tool, new and never used.

Are you wood burning these signs? They're awesome!

There are bound to be some a bit behind the others. Got a picture of your brooder set up? Maybe you can make it more ideal.

No Sassy it is not normal to have that many failure to thrive chicks.

Did they all come from the same source?
What feed are you using?
What is their heat source?

When I get littes I crush the chick feed so it is fine for the first week and also give wet feed twice a day for the first month then once a day the rest of their lives.

Some chicks cannot eat the chick feed at first because it is still to big.

You did mention when you got them that she was really small. She may be starting life with cards stacked against her.
