Official Squatch Watchers

I can chicken and turkey in the associated stock, so I often grab a jar and make a recipe starting with the stock. What ever flavor you're in the mood for, build the sauce, add the chicken and any other pre-cooked ingredients and you're good.

How do you can your turkey and chicken? Cooked or raw packed? We can broths here, but I want to venture into canning meat as well.

I generally prefer raw pack with hot stock & jars, just cause it's easier. Corned Beef and ground beef get cooked first. I'll often use my electric turkey roaster to heat the jars and dump the hot water out of the jars into the pressure canner with some white vinegar.

I wish I could hatch just girls! I love little fluffy butts but finding something to do with the boys is sooo hard.

Black dove is the winner

1. Yes I'm a freak and my belly button isn't centered in my body
3. And yes my cat is a freak too.....he continually had urinary blockages from crystals that formed in his bladder. As a last resort we took him to an Animal hospital in Columbus Oh where they did a procedure on him called a urethrostomy where they basically turned him internally to a girl in order to make the urethra larger. He still has the crystal but now they can pass through the larger opening instead of the small urethra in the penis. You can read all the gory details online. But thats the gist of it

I have a boy with a crystal problem. Luckily surgery wasn't required. He needs lots of fresh water at all times!

Reminds me of My grandmother's canned tamales were cooked in my parents pressure cooker.

I need to learn how to can tamales. This time of year, our freezer(s) are overflowing with tamales as we make them once a year.. in BULK!

Thought I'd update on the pupper...
