Official Squatch Watchers

In bed, snuggled up with the sick kiddo.... SO clingy when he has a fever..... I wonder if he will ever outgrow it.... watching Iron Chef America..... now craving lobster and goose and crispy chicken skin....

The peeps are chirping away happily. About the only TWEEP we hear is when Pouf (the grey one) gets left alone at the top of the tunnel while the others have ducked in to warm up.... Pouf will sit there until I reach in and grab him and toss him into the tunnel with the others... I'm like really?!?? Dumbarse....

Here's something for y'all to check out!! https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/want-to-monitor-your-coop-from-your-phone.1209201/

I have a mulch field, folks. And I really LOVE it. It's an area where I offload wheel barrows full of leaves and other smalls (I get that word from American Pickers) that I don't want to burn. Smalls create lots of white smoke and contribute to local air pollution, but understandably people burn them all the time. For me, though, it's perfect for making mulch and new soil.

Anyhoo, break over. Back to sanding before it starts raining moose again.

I put all the leaves and grass and garden stuff in the coop/poultry yard as bedding.. they love it and it gets broken down, fertilized and in a year goes into the garden :celebrate

The brats, you know the ones who refuse to stay inside the protective fence, have discovered my 5 foot tall compost pile... I'm going to let them keep working it as I figure in another month, they will have leveled the whole area with about a foot of compost across it. Will be my new garden bed. I need to clean out the brooder and add it to the pile so they can work it too. My deep litter in the green house is now loaded with grass and weeds, so come the first of the year, they'll get to clean that out for me.

Day late and a dollar short... That's why I want to add the brooder stuff. 8X16X3. The reason I put my compost pile there was it was a 12 X 40 area that was rocky and unmanageable. So I put my pile on a BIG flat rock (8X12) Last Feb, it was so cool to watch the steam roll off the pile. They've pretty well leveled the whole area.
