Just had to break ice layer off my buckets in the lower pasture. Formed a vacuum at the TOP of the bucket. So even though lines were thawed by the sun, gravity flow wouldn't work until I broke the ice. ARG!

I might need it. He kept me awake until 2:30 and then woke up fully at 7:15, never mind the two feedings in between. Fortunately, I had to get up to make a cheesecake anyway.

Young chickens, ducks and turkeys. Generally, they'll freeze up over night and be thawed by 8 and even if it takes until 9, there's generally enough water in the bell so it's not a problem. Today, it was still frozen at 10:00 and bells were completely dry. But they filled quickly after I broke the ice and let air in.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all! Been cooking green beans for a hour and a half with the eye off...doh!

Hubby bought new clippers and wanted me to cut his hair! I used to be a professional dog groomer, so i figured no problem. Now he jokes that he looks like a Bichon Frise! But he did thank me. No tip though!
