Thanks. I'll remember that. I had some left over from making dog cookies.A small amount will give you a substantial protein boost. Manhaden is the best at 62%
ETA: too much fish product, as well as flax meal can lead to fishy smelling eggs. Flax seed, as with all really small seeds, is generally not broken down much, goes in one end and out the other.
What about canned tuna?
X2Wow!
Beautiful!
Oh my gosh! LolCuz the grass was greener on the other side.
Good point.I still think you should stay in the house..... get a room mate if the price is out of your own range. Honestly... trying to find a place for you AND all the animals is gonna wear you out... and any more emotional turmoil, you might start making some very bad decisions.....![]()
X2!!!!!!!Good point.
Get a FUN roommate.
But spend the thirty dollars and run a background check on them first.

X2!!!!!!!
College kids are always in need of housing, if you have a college nearby.... even a tech college. Or military as well, if you live near a base.
So he seduced them?I'm going to rename him hemmoroid lol! He's been trying to tempt those girls since their coop got moved to her front yard. I watched him crow and strut for a good hour yesterday. I'm going to have to block the view i guess. I'm not locking him up,they came to him. She needs to get them a man even if it's just a little bantam, it's the thought that counts anyway.![]()
Earlier when Odin was out with the other birds Willie (the bantam) would call Odin in for back up if I was being a problem. He'd run and tell on me and Odin would come in to see what I was up to. These birds.. I swear. Willie is feisty too, the lady at tractor supply warned me about if we ended up w/ a boy that they all had Little Man syndrome and not to be afraid to give him a good shove w/ my foot. He has no problem w/ feet, but if I got to grab him he runs away. Feet aren't scary, but hands are?My bantam is feisty he tries to sneak up on me when I'm not looking. The other day I turned just in time to reach down an teach him I'm the top of the peaking order. Sometimes I'll let him flog the bottom of my shoe the funny thing is the is if the big rooster sees him squaring off with me he will come and chase the bantam off. Almost like he is protecting me
I do that w/ Willie too. He hates being held though he doesn't stay alway for long. As soon as I put him down he's giving me the side-eye. He's adorable and pathetic.Bantams are naturally feisty. The best thing is when he does it I grab him and pick him up and pet him. He hates it and doesn't come near me for weeks after View attachment 1202483
When I first saw this I thought it said RatSeeds and was a site to buy rat poop. smh.Rareseeds.com i think. I ordered a catalogue too@
I only have one delaware and she's in the lower 1/2 of the pecking order, but she's derpy. I have a couple others who like to nibble on me when I'm in the coop.. not trying to hurt me per se, but they notice the little rivet on the pants pocket, or my shoe laces, or zipper. Today one took a nip at my finger as I was trying to put in a pull tie. Like everything that comes in through the fence is food.We have 4ft chicken hooks that we use to catch birds that don't want to be caught (by the leg). It works best on full grown birds with large legs. I have a hard time catching my leghorn cross girls with their skinny little pencil legs with it. I used to carry that with me any time I would walk in the flock for a while when the main flock roosters were young.
I think I need to train some of my Delaware pullets. They are very comfortable with getting up in my business and pecking me hard if I'm not fast enough with delivering treats. I'm actually reconsidering keeping the breed because of this bossy behavior. Although I have to say, the balance of power has shifted in the last week. Since I put the eggs in the incubator, I've set my Dominique and Dom cross hens free in the flock and they've been teaching the younger pullets some manners. I think the Delaware pullets are too big to be taught lessons by the leghorns and have gotten used to pushing the other birds around, particularly the Buffs. The only Buff that really stands up to them is my Mama Buff and that is only when her babies are involved. My Dom and Dom cross hens are big enough and sure enough in their positions in the flock that they pushed all the pullets away from the scraps bucket on the first afternoon that they weren't separated from the main flock.
I had an aquaintance from hs who met her husband on a farmer dating site. They're adorable!@FlyingNunFarm farmersonly.com .... just sayin'
Cappy is right, rareseeds.com ... but you should really order the catalog.... more fun to peruse..... PLUS you should see what they have posted on the cover this issue.... BEAUTIFUL super sweet atomic grape tomatoes! I wanna grow these even if I can't eat them!!!
Your chickens are worth more than that sweetie.... so that makes you 100x worth more than that! We will support any decision you make.... maybe he went through a phase, maybe you'll forgive and forget..... there's a LOT of time and energy invested in that relationship... and we don't know your life... but if you want us to hate him, we certainly can hate him.....![]()
You might consider having a friend with you while he's there. I know you might think it'll be a good time to talk, but the entire time he's there he will be trying to get you to let him come back. Having someone else there will help limit what he's willing to say to you and keep it more business like. Get your crap and get out. AND you and your friend can go out to a movie or shopping after so he HAS to leave quickly... no rooting around b/c he 'forgot' something, or can't find something he KNOWS is there somewhere.Oh he's done! I really think he thought he would call and I would be there to pick up the pieces. 12 years is a long time and I'm sure I'll always care for him in some way. But I've set up boundaries for this new version of a relationship we have. He wanted to come pick stuff up from the house while I'm at work. I flat out said no. The stuff isn't going anywhere so he can wait till the weekend when I'm home. It's my house now. I plan on moving yes but he doesn't live here any more. Things will be done on my terms now.
