When I get asked how many chickens I have I just say 20 something not really sure. The only response I get is can we eat some then she says I really want some fresh chicken. You want to know the funny thing? I am not a fan of chicken. The only way I eat chicken is fried on a sandwich. I do like fresh eggs. The day a hawk got one of the three week old chicks my wife was mad because the hawk got to eat the chicken before she did

I think i eat more chicken than any other meat. Considering getting meat chickens in spring.

Once you have so many and your DH doesn't do much, if anything with them, it is EASY PEASY! Of course my hubby doesn't mind as long as I don't get too crazy. My day job more than pays for the chickens.

I had to read Smuvs post to hubby. I got a funny look when I broke out laughing at it.

He rolled his eyes and said (rather sarcastically) "that'll learn him".

I am off to bed too. He's on call, worked 12 hours without a break and lookin tuckered out. Yup first meal of his day was dinner served 3 hours late.

Little tidbit, we found 3 of the 4 eggs that were laid today in the new nests in the CP Coop! So thrilled. The fake eggs have been pushed out. We've been tossing them back in every day, but will leave them out from now on. It seems they've picked the middle nest box as the laying box. No one is actually using it at night as a coop though, so we're gonna move Xena and the Nuggets over there tomorrow and block it off from the run for a few days. In a week or 2 we'll move the Peeps out of the garage and into the BH Coop previously occupied by Xena and Nugs.
