I spent the whole weekend putting up decorations. Lights and garland on the coop ( see photo) and lights and garland around the front door. Decorated the fireplace mantle in the kitchen and put up my nutcracker collection in the living room. Put up a lot of other little things too. Also extra hugs to anyone who is (or was) emotionally dealing with a family member with dementia. My grandmother had old age dementia. She forgot who any of us were years before she died. Each of us in my family dealt with it in our own way.

I need more run space! I have an idea and will take measurements and pics to get ideas tomorrow.
Really I have 2 bantam cochin cockerels I need to get rid of. They pick on the others off and on. I just hate to see how they act when I am not looking!!! The bantam Brahma seems fine, but not cute and fluffy and really hard to catch.

I just called my Mom in FL. She has dementia and keeps thinking i am in Ohio. Never been there in my life! But she was saying how all the birds are gone so i am going to send her a hummingbird feeder with the box of candy she wanted. There is a screened in porch there, but woods directly behind her. Any way, she used to live on a pond and there were lots of water birds there. So i guess she misses them.
Poor Mom, i feel badly for her. We lived at her house for a year after Dad died but with my depression i just could not handle it any longer. Had to get away. So she is in an expensive nursing home.

Im sorry to hear. I cant even begin to imagine my mom going through that. We think my father-in-law is in early stages i just hope we can all stay strong for all those who need us to in what ever situations arise. My heart is with you.

Poor Mom could not remember that Alzheimer's killed her sister. I am pretty sure she doesn't realize she has it too. Old age is not for sissies!

My mom told me this story about this old guy who she was talking to when she was younger. He leaned in and said to her "Let me clue you in on something. The 'golden years'.... they SUCK!"
