My gals piled out like there was nothing but treats on the ground!
Yeah it is only .3 inches.......in the deep parts. :rolleyes:

No special treatment unless we get 6" or more.
This dry spell imma blame on sumptin just not sure what yet.
I don't mind not having snow and super cold but dang the plants need it

Moms don't like to hear it either. We're an all girl family and my kids have no filter at home. It's awkward having my 14 yo tell me an actor who's older than me is 'hot' or 'yummy'. Um.. no. Just no. You are 14, he is 20+ years older than you... choose a younger actor to crush on. SMH. and NEVER refer to a person as 'yummy' to me ever again.

Right? I think most of them have conveniently forgotten their younger days. When a guy on my fb page makes an inappropriate comment about women I like to ask them if their daughter's dating yet. Sometimes they need a reminder that their 'little girl' won't be so little some days.

I thought about calling off since school was closed today, but it's update week and I don't hate my coworker enough to stick him w/ them all. Plus my boss loves to give guilt trips about calling off- "But I was going to take the day off".. she has to take off like 5 days between now and the end of the year or she'll lose the time.. IMO it shouldn't affect my time off that she can't manage to take time off. We're not exactly a business where people will die if we take a freakin' day off.

I think we have your weather... I'll send it to you overnight... are you getting any of these stupid clippers that we're getting here? IDK how they work, but I just keep seeing these maps on the news w arrows swooping down from Canada. Canada needs to quit sharing it's crappy weather.

Last night I brought my girls bowls of warm oatmeal with cayenne before locking them up, cuz we were supposed to get snow (we did). I think us BYCers have the most spoiled chickens in the world! Normal (non-chickening) people must think we're batsh*t cray-cray when they hear of this stuff we do for our chooks, lol!

Cayenne? Like the powered pepper spice? Does that really help them keep warm? How much do you use? I feel bad that my poor chickens are stuck in that cold coop... I gave them cauliflower & apples last night, they were all excited about it.

We got nothing in the way of wind or wet. An occasional light breeze but that's really it.

Normally we are on our 5th snow by now. They are going to end up limiting water use and fining if someone waters on the wrong day. I will be putting in a drip system so I don't waste water.

I have a neighbor that has taken issue with Hubby's tow truck being here. I am sure we will see more issues out of him this summer.

He got really weird after his car wreck a few years ago. I think he had head trauma and I try to be understanding BUT.....SHEESH!

I just put a sprinkling in their oatmeal bowl. Not alot. I've read about it in Backyard Poultry magazine. They seem to like it. I doubt that little amount keeps them much warmer, but it can't hurt.

This is why I love it that I have to drive to see my closest neighbor.
