Official Squatch Watchers

I've heard that in some places in the south they close school at the first snowflake.

My son likes watching snow fall. You see a few of the flakes in the picture. This is before it got cold enough to stick.

We don't close school for snow ever. We close school the day after a storm because it doesn't stay snow. The snow here melts just enough to turn everything into a glacier of ice. The roads turn into a ice skating rink. Then the next day it's cobblestone ice all over the roads. Then the next two days it's like driving in a slurpy or a frozen margarita

On a different note, has anyone made their own lye and then made soap with the lye? I'd like to learn how to do that at some point.
I always wanted to as well. I think you take ash from hardwood trees and put it in a metal bucket with water.
I have made soap but not lye soap.

Sorry, i went out with the dogs and ended up in the workshop. I cut the pieces for another divider and another door. Painted them, so it will just be assembly and applying wire tomorrow. Likely a bit more barn board to cut and paint, hinges to put on.
I think the dog stole the lid to the paint i was using, it looks like a frisbee! Hope i find it tomorrow. I covered it with plastic for now.
