Official Squatch Watchers

PIC is 8.5... and we home school AND live out in da country... so, no *friends* except the neighbor... he is 11 and we see him maybe once every few weeks. PIC gets a fever with every growth spurt...... which is every few months it seems... poor thing had a QUICK booty growth..... baby has serious stretch marks right under his butt cheeks on his legs.... trying to put cream on it and he smacks me away.... shakes his big old booty in my face and then runs squealing with laughter... little tater!!!
Bahahahahhahaaaa. I think the sharing drinks is more of a girl thing anyway.. I told everyone she was licking door knobs. At least you're able to avoid all the germs going around. Mine went back to school today and I expect there to be all kinds of germs spread around. Poor kid. My giant human did the same thing, she grew so fast, she has a stretch mark that's 3" wide across her lower back. No tramp stamps for her! I'm short so I didn't have that problem.. except for the having kids and getting fat part. It'd be nice if skin was stretchy enough to accommodate growth.

Makes sense! And he looks pretty darn good so far. I don't see any frosted bits so it must be working.
Would be nice if the ladies would behave but then that would mean something went right. They always find a way to challenge us.

Your coop is tall. I wouldn't want to be on a ladder in the weather you have either.
Since everyone is healthy it is certainly something that can wait.

I feel guilty. My weather turned good. I have windows open on my coops. Got the kennel cleaned and going to clean the big coop soon.
There's a few nubs on his comb and the edges of his waddles. I keep having to grab him out so when I reach in he runs for the back corner.
The coop was made from shed plans. I probably should have changed it so the front was 7' tall or something, but I don't have any building abilities so we followed the plans. I didn't want a peaked roof and I wanted to be able to stand up inside.
How sad is it that we're getting excited about temps just barely above freezing?

I won't bore you with the tatery details but this is my 3rd trip to the bathroom today! IBS is misery.
I went out and fed , watered the guineas, picked a bucket of sticks and set up the bunny water warmer in the goat shed. DH has a bonfire going and i consigned the latest SS that died to the fire. Ashes to ashes.
It is time to go back out and feed the rest of the gang. The chickens are making those annoyed sounds because they are ready for scratch.

I am debating on switching to plain, dry food during the cold spell. The FF keeps freezing before the chickies can get to it all. Yikes!
I take the FF out several times a day and pickup the frozen bowl and switch it out... the water too... because I don't have electricity anywhere near and do not want to trip over hundreds of feet of cord in the snow going to 4 coops.
if you have electricity the ff could go in a heated bowl or on a cookie tin type heater

Serious question, to @rjohns39 , our historian....

What did the pioneers use to *can* foods? I mean, if I couldn't buy the metal lid and ring, I couldn't can for myself, correct?
At one point they had glass jars with glass lids and a rubber seal and a metal thing to hold the lid on.
