Archaeological history and theory :sick I am in grad school for archaeology and I have a big written exam next week. The exam is only held once a year and I have to pass it to proceed to the next stage of my degree. But it is ok cause I have you guys as study buddies and that really helps :) The stuff I am reading is really dry and dense (but useful) so I take a lot of quick breaks between sections. Catching up with you all is the perfect mini break :love
So you want to grow up and dig stuff up? I just got a metal detector for Christmas!

Omg! I went outside and the biggest Lionhead was out of her cage, running around loose!!! And here comes the Shepherd, hot on her heels! I yell, the dog stops, the rabbit dives under the tarp! So glad i was able to catch her, she is very fast!
Oh my!!!! Rabbits are faster than chickens I do believe. Maybe it depends on the breed.

Good to know, I'm going to have to go get greasy with my roo here in a second, his comb looks a little bit off from last night's cold that was way colder than they predicted. I'm going coco nutty on him this time. :)
Dropped to 14* once everyone went to roost.

I think my broody is broken but I’m going to give it a few more days. She was wandering around today not trying to pancake herself anywhere. She’s sleeping where the nest boxes are supposed to be but that makes a nice roost anyway.

Think Coconut Oil was the way to go for the boys. On the left is Captain who had fluid filled nasties on his last points. Those are gone. Coloring is still off but no fluid.

Trouble looks worse but I can’t tell what could be dead skin vs dirt stuck to him from his head being goopy.... only time will tell.

I am getting ready to go upstairs and find the bag balm myself to do the sussex combs, it is supposed to be very cold tonight.

I just got in from greasing him, luckily he's easy to catch and deal with. Poor guy looks so funky with his coconut head. Those hens are taters though, trying to steal my oil cup jumping on my back, just a bunch of taters.:)

Woah! Hey now! Growing up seems a little extreme....think I'll wait another decade or two and see how I feel about it then ;)
But I do love the digging! (Although I mainly do lab stuff these days)

Congrats on the awesome gift! You'll have to let us know what you find :D

I really tried to rub it in. Not leave any clumps or thick spots. I'm wondering if that was the problem with the bag balm. It was too thick?
I let mine eat a clump. They seem to like it. Won't hurt...LOL

ETA: It's Virgin Coconut Oil. Cold pressed. All sorts of good stuff in that sh!t. Smells nice too.
