They are red and a vet can give you something that starts with a F I think it's called Fubulent
I read bout them. I read some place they were rare. I also read, to use a qtip down the back of the throat and it would come back with red streaks if it was positive.

I went to check on her tonight and was nested belly down in the shavings. She did have a full crop! She liked the eggs and loved the salmon.

Awesome I'm glad she is eating the best start to healing is food. I also read the same about the qtip but also heard somewhere that it could be seen with close inspection of the poo

So, we culled Tiny. S/he was just in too much suffering to keep on trying.... you could tell. Thirteen is hanging in there though. S/he keeps laying down on their side though.... gets really quiet and kind of twiterry chirps... then quiet.... 20 minutes later, Thirteen pops up on it's feet and chirps away, walking around.... it's just SO weird!

Edit to Add: DH culled Tiny. It was weird, kind of surreal to me. When we first got chickens, I told DH that we would be culling them... and he was ADAMANT about the fact that HE would not be participating in the culling step. He'd help with everything else, but not culling. So, stepping up and taking care of Tiny was a really huge deal.
