Official Squatch Watchers

Late night pop in. Waiting for pain meds to kick in. Got a TON of misc crap done today.... I'll have to catch up on the thread tomorrow morning.

Found this interesting link, thought I'd share: https://www.seedsnow.com/pages/calendar

Plug in your zip code, it tells you the best dates to plant..... you can even arrange them in order of when to plant! Awesome!

Sounds wonderful! Could you post this on my garden thread please? Luv your avatar Smuv! Hope you are feeling better!

I was thinking that could be something you could do once a week just to be proactive and possibly put some under the bedding and leave it there :idunno
I dust around the edging of my coop, inside and outside. Then I dust around the exterior of the run and put a little in the dust bath. Evey 4-6 months.

Thoughts on this for in the coop? I have a regular one out there but want to monitor better while using the heat light. Wondered if this would work. I can check from the house and not have to gear up and trudge out there.

I got one for Christmas (just the temperature one, not humidity). It is the BOMB. I love being able to look at it from my kitchen and see what the coop temp is, I have a Sweeter Heater in there for really cold days and it always reads 4-6 degrees warmer in the coop than the outside temp.

Precious! Mine still has growing to do! They don’t seem to be as tall as RIR, more compact and closer to the ground??

I'm not sure, Sassy....I haven't seen any RIRs lately. To me she looks gigantic, but I have mostly bantams aand Ayam Cemanis which are fairly small. She is big and fluffy and I guess kind of low to the ground, more so than my EE who is more leggy.

She's an awesome bird, she always makes those BUKK BAAA GUUUUKKKK!!!! noises that @Chickassan is so fond of, lol.

Lost another pullet today. This one had what i think are mites. Reddish looking and eggs on the base of the feathers. I feel so stupid, thought she was just failing from Mereks. So they all got dusted with poultry dust and i need some spray to use on the coop. I just feel awful!

I'm so sorry Cappy. It sucks so bad losing your sweet bird. :hit

Don't beat yourself up, none of us are poultry vets!! You are a great chicken mom.:hugs

Bad news hubby's peg tube is leaking, & black stuff oozing from site. So the doctor stopped feedings till tomorrow. Ct scan, xray, possible surgery. I said we just went through this & it was fine. Now magically the evil tube fairy is running a muck? Well no these things are hit and miss. That's all he could say. So I got hubby cleaned up, did suction now he's resting. Just frustrated, up then down. Oh & there's blood in trach, but I've been told not to worry, It's just irritation .:hehow's this for irritation. Ok enough of my itching. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm. :love

Oh, Misty, I am so sorry that he is having all this trouble. This has got to be so awful for you...I odn't know how you are keeping yourself together! :hugs

Make sure to insist they do a culture and senitivity of the leakage in case it is infected, so they can treat him with the appropriate antibiotics if it is.

I hope things turn around for you real soon, and I am keeping you in my thoughts!!!

Now we should both get off this computer and go to bed!:caf (that's herb tea, not coffee!)
