Official Squatch Watchers

Poor baby! His poor comb. :(
I know. It was looking really good. Then it all went to taters in a hand basket. My other boy's waddles peeled. :sick I've been gingerly putting coconut oil on both boys to keep the skin soft. When I did Captains waddles the edge peeled off in my hand.

I suggest not putting coconut oil on. Touching frostbit skin only inflames and irritates it, reducing any already minuscule chance it has for healing. I do nothing for my frostbite cases, and trust me, I've had lots, lol.

Ouch, pbm, I hope they get better soon, and definitely before the weather threatens to freeze them again. If you can keep them indoors during the coldest weather, when it's below 20, that would be best. If possible, try to keep them in when is bellow freezing. I know that would be tough, but all of that needs to finish healing, and constant freezing, thawing and refreezing doesn't allow that.

Poor babies :(

I have had to do a shake up to my flock. Those 3 female BC pullets chase the young ones like a stomping bull. I moved the young ones in with the Silkies and BC’s are on their own right now. I tried putting Yeti with the young ones, hoping he would win their affection. They are too young to be inpressed with his dancing skills. Haha. It is strange they sleep huddled up through plastic netting, but it is a no go without the netting.
