Official Squatch Watchers

I made all four of the doors for the bunny condo, and stapled on the wire mesh. I have a few more pieces of wire that need to be stapled on but it was misting rain and i didn't want to get chilled so i came in.
I need to find some hardware so i may be spending time in the garden shed tonight. Nice that it has electric light!

My neighbor pickled green beans. They were a lot like pickled okra in texture.
If anyone likes the pickled okra but cannot get ahold of fresh okra I think its worth a go.
I think he used a pickling packet designed for pickles so no real recipe. I can likely find out what packet he used.

Hubby wants to go out to dinner. Something about a Mexican restaurant we haven't tried before.

thats because our hands are yucky and we don't want to touch the camera :gig:old
x2!!

Beekisseds video on skinning, she had it posted here somewhere

Here's Joel at Mother earth news fair. I do use the same equipment.
I spend a bit more time rubbing their neck once in the cone as it tends to put them to sleep.

Here's Daniel breaking them down. Still can't believe he is consistently at 1 minute 11 seconds per bird. Best I can do is three minutes.
I can do a bird in about 1:30.... only that's hours and minutes, not minutes and seconds. I stand in awe/jealousy of their skill.

Granted, I could go a whole lot faster if I weren't mucking about with dry plucking and THEN skinning 'coz my evisceration job was just that bad, but I'd still be pretty slow either way.

Beekissed is my role model. :bow It'll take me years and years to get even halfway good at turning squawky things to dinner as she is.

Let me find you a youtube recipe for dilly beans. I like it. Or I can give you my recipe for canned green beans as well.

For my recipe, I make up a big bowl of diced carrots, potatoes, bacon, onion, and garlic. I mix it all together and add a big spoonful to each jar. Then I add green beans cut at about an inch. Add a half tsp of salt and chicken stock (from my chickens). Then I pressure can.

What's the potato for? Can it be done minus the potato?
Is the mixture cooked? The bacon?
How long do you pressure can for?
