I read that whole thing, and it looks like my experimental chicks should theoretically be sex linked. We shall see. Honestly i can't believe I'm doing it again, said i wouldn't last year but for some flipping reason I want "just a few more babies" I'm obviously sick. :)

Don't pay attention to the title..just read it all and see if it makes any sense to you.

Yes breed all non barred. Non barred bred to non barred will not produce any barred birds.
Also if pullets is more your goal then cockerels you can breed non barred roosters to barred hens. That makes sex links. All male chicks will be barred an have the barring head spot when born.
Pullet chicks will be non barred and no head spot when born.
If it was me I'd breed non barred roosters to all hens barred or not. All the pullets will be non barred and keepers.
Some of the cockerels will be non barred and keepers. Other males will be barred but you'll know at hatch so they can be culled at hatch.

yep that was what I thought
non barred male to non barred female .. pullets should be non barred and cockerels may be single barred
and I have 3 single barred males and 1 female and 1 double barred male offspring in the Thanksgiving hatch . 1 single barr female and 2 males in the halloween hatch

The Labor day hatch i got a double barred and a red barred, but I thought they may have been out of the BR hen, if I put the eggs in the wrong carton. I thought I was hatching eggs from the pen w/ cx mix roo

Feeling a bit sad today, not sure why. I mean my knee hurts, which makes me grouchy but maybe i am just not getting enough sleep. And i need to get my mamogram and deal with the stupid doctors office about getting my Cpap. I need to go to the dentist.
Maybe i just need to get drunk, idk.
sleep is important

Bok! Buk-bok!
It's the egg song and everyone joins in. It gets loud, then louder. All the chickens try to be the loudest.

The back door opens.
The back door SLAMS!
The chicken lady claps her hands.
"Chook-chook-chook!"
Her flock is small, but wow, they are a noisy bunch!
They come running around from the side of the house hoping for a treat. They run in a pack and their feet thump thump thump on the ground. Margaret leads the way! "Come on!" She yells to the others "Hurry! The lady has grapes or cilantro or the Greek yogurt we love that's never on sale!"

I know but when i lay down i just keep thinking about stuff. Then i get up late and don't get started when i plan to. At night i'm wide awake and full of energy so i can't sleep. Screwed up. Old. Fat. Depressed.
I am those last things too.. When I first retire I couldn't sleep well either.
Now I exercise first thing in the morning, stretches and such.. 10k steps a day at least.. strength training a couple of time a week... and I can sleep at night.. I still keep a pad by the bed and write down stuff that is keeping me away , so I know it will be there in the am.
