I have a hen who sounds like a goose. She honks instead of making the normal egg song. I hear it most mornings. I need to stand out in the paddock one day and figure out who it is.
I have a honker too! Sounds funny. It's one of my welsummers.

Split the roosters and see what they produce bred to a non barred hen.
Guessing your red one would not produce barred but the white on would produce some barred and some non barred.
Tell us a funny story!!!
Please.

Sorry about breakfast, had to get up early to take daughter to Seattle, their normal carpool wasn't able to go, so I took her and another person all the way in rush hr traffic. Not the most fun but got them there and got home safe and sound. Just to give you an idea, I live 22 miles south of Seattle, but in rush hr traffic, it can take anywhere from 45 mins to an hour on the freeway to get there, and that's the fastest route.
You would love Houston traffic. That same distance during rush hour is easily double that time.

So the intensity of the blue color in their adult feathering varies? Interesting.

I had a hard time telling what my Black Cochin was as a chick because he was ENTIRELY black except for a white belly. Even the feathering on his feet was black. When doing my research, they kept showing black cochin chicks as looking like this. I'm sad I didn't get pictures of him as a chick.

It does vary. I think its wonderful! If you expand the pics I posted you can see the pretty edging on all the body feathers. Super pretty in the sunlight.

I think you may even have a pretty splash in your lightest chick.

:love:love

You'll see some varying shades of blue here in my bantam cochins. I like them all!

On a different topic. I have 18 squares (half what I need) of the afghan I'm making done, I'm working on putting the green border on them all and then I'll start stitching them together. I decided to move on to edging and construction because I was getting bored with doing the centers. I'm going to alternate plain squares and green center squares.
