THE STORY OF TATERHOLE HUBBY (or, why I may end up in jail)

Quick rundown. DH and I met, both coming off BAD breakups. We basically walked into a relationship with nothing to either or our names. And I mean, like, maybe 1/10th of what 2 people in their late 20s/early 30s should have.

Well, one of the first gifts I ever gave him was a ratchet set and a HUGE tool box. Over the years I have built that thing up to where it is OVER full. I bet there is even 8 of the same wrenches somewhere!

My problem. NO TOOLS can ever be found because DH NEVER puts his tools back. I mean EVER! So, we probably have 8 of the same wrench simply because the others are *missing*. The other day, PIC and I went outside on the ONE nice day to rip some boards (I have about 5 projects dancing in my head currently). It took us AN HOUR to find 3 simple tools.... a measuring tape, a speed square and a tatering PENCIL. No joke.

NOW, here's the rub. DH says he KNOWS where everything is.... so *I* don't need to worry about where he puts *HIS* tools. His *losing* of his most BASIC of tools pushed me into buying myself a small, indoor tool kit (hammer, nails, measuring tape, basic stuff)... which he borrows because he can't find HIS OWN CHIT!!!!! :barnie:barnie

He forced my hand a few nights ago when he couldn't find his dremel. A dremel that has literally been plugged in and charging in our kitchen for at least the last year. And now, the dremel is missing and I know I have never used it.

Because of this, I have literally bought my own BIG tool box. I also bought a couple locks and DO plan on locking it up. Y'all think I'm being childish or does the actions of the DH warrant such a huge leap?! I just think, if I asked ANYONE to borrow a screw driver, they wouldn't direct me to their detached garage, sitting on top of an old refrigerator. I assume it's gonna be in their tool box!

So, what say you guys? :pop
He doesn't need your tools, he has his own. Locker up.

@Chickassan I already have 2 over hormonal boys that most of the older girls want nothing to do with. I can't ever seem to find homes for extra boys. Not ones that don't end in the screw pot anyway. I'm a big softy. If I could have a rooster flock I probably would.
@Smuvers Farm A lock on your tool box is completely reasonable. I hate when I can't find the tool I need cause someone else used it last. Maybe a small alarm system too.:p
@Molpet It really is a fantastic little thing. Rolls up for easy storage too. We had freezing rain one night and I used it--thing was stiff as a board but my windshield did not need to be scraped. They make them now with mirror covers too.

Well, he now has this attitude about well I can't *borrow* any of his since I'm getting my own. So I'm supposed to buy another table saw even though WE have a table saw and a power saw?! I meant just hand tools and such..

well, I can be a total witch as well since *I* am the one who owns the air nailer... HA... jackass... play with Momma get the burnt match to your arse!!! :lau

I have my own tool boxes for the exact same reason.

I will send bail $.

1 viewed per hour
US $65.00

Mini Derps!!!!!!! Small fluffy balls of specialness!!!!!!

Whoa 65.00 bucks! The ones for the seniors were way less. Mini derps are hilarious, but they're still pretty large even in mini form its mostly roundness though. :) Maybe I should start slinging derp berries on eBay, seems pretty profitable and I'd get to sabatoge strangers with wonky chickens....excellent.

I did NOT know they came in bantams. Are your bantam?? :pop

I'm not getting these, lol. I have enough eggs to hatch! (too many per DH)

Remember, seramas can carry the death gene from their ancestors and are hard to hatch. Some of those are new pullets, may not even be fertile. And some may die at lockdown. That's why I always send (and set) extras. ;) Tell DH to chill. :D

Do it!!

My hubby is great at organizing and putting his tools away. He always keeps them in great shape. But they are either in *his* garage or his truck. I'm allowed to use his, I'd just rather have my own, so I've amassed quite a bit. Plus, he is a big strong dude, I am a tiny old lady. Even his drills and hammers are heavy for me, so i buy "my size" tools. And I keep them in my building...right next to the coops, since that's where I use them most now.
