Hello all,

I’m all caught up. No skipping here!

Had a nice visit with my sister this morning, on our way back from a visit with my BFF (who is also my cousin). DH is driving so no worries about BYCing and driving.

I’ve had a nasty headache all day. Made it worse by whacking my head on the door frame of my van. Tomorrow we go to a bulk foods place in Lancaster PA and the. Head to the DC area. We’ll have dinner with friends and then head to our hotel.

:hugs
You had quite the day! Hope you sleep well on the new mattress!

We caught a coon that had been stealing my ducks feed. Hubby dispatched it. Reset the trap. Caught another one the next day, but he had gone out of town on business, so it was up to me. It looked so cute staring up at me, I almost couldn't do it. But when I dragged the trap over closer to the woods to dump the carcass, it HISSED at me. Made it alot easier to feed it some lead.

My parents have seen several coons recently. So need to start trapping. I want to get those paw traps so we can get a bunch in one night and not get the cat.

Make sure you wash extensively before and after your DC visit.

I fear she has a calcium absorption problem. Some treats can cause that, but if only one bird having an issue then it's unlikely. You might need to establish a regular routine with Tums and salmon.

Cap, 12" of rain this month 66" this year. 5 in the last week. My girls are free ranging way further than I'm comfortable with, but the pastures are a mud pit.

Sassy, glad to see you... They've started calling me skipper since I've gone back to work and don't have time to wade through 184 posts to catch up. Just join me in he skipper club.

Sorry those beetles made it to you... Many of us have and hate them. As for the oil gland, after removing a couple hundred we pretty much know what normal looks like.

Evening all, I can tell you I'm running out of gas... Got seeds planted in the garden, got the see starter setup done and planted AND the chickens have discovered the garden:mad: I really don't mind if they pull a carrot and eat it, but tell me why they pull one, take a couple bites and then pull another etc... I think when TSC has the deer protection,I'll be putting up a 7' fence around the garden.
Wow , you have been busy! Good work!

Lots of coon tracks down by the river. Hubby doesn't want to trap them, thinks they will stay down there. :lau You know they are going to be in the gardens!

The only treats they get are greens, salmon, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, raisins or other healthy things like that. They don't get an overabundance of those either. Meal worms and Grubblies when I need to bribe them. She is the only one having the issue so I think I will take your advice and start a bi- weekly regimen of calcium.

Out of curiosity .....what kind of treats cause calcium issues?

I do not know but I have heard spinach.
I am going to do some digging and see what I can find.
Thanks for the project!

Check this out for now.
