Congrats on the bunnies Cap. Our Mollies multiply like rabbits! I had to flush a majority of them  and I tried to keep only one sex. I think there maybe a female or two, but couldn’t catch any of the remaining and they look like boys.

I have already REALLY pushed my luck with AssAns Derp eggs...... if DH's eyes roll much further into the back of his head he'll be able to see his own arse. :lau

I am currently pushing for either a goat or a pair of pigs. Mostly in fun..... although if he gets too uppity..... he might come home from his week's field problem with 2 pigs AND a goat in his yard... HA!

One goat is no good, they get lonely!

The only treats they get are greens, salmon, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, raisins or other healthy things like that. They don't get an overabundance of those either. Meal worms and Grubblies when I need to bribe them. She is the only one having the issue so I think I will take your advice and start a bi- weekly regimen of calcium.

Out of curiosity .....what kind of treats cause calcium issues?

It will take some digging and will have to wait until next weekend. There are two sides to the issue. Some foods act as nutrient blockers which inhibit absorption, while other things aid in absorption.

Little green bug? No...those awful Asian lady bugs. They are orange and stink when you squish them. They love my house.

That’s just one window. They currently love my bathroom....

We vacuum them up once or twice a week, but never forget to dump the vacuum right away... :sick

Morning all :frow

When it comes to feed there are three components to consider.
  1. what's actually in the feed
  2. what you're providing as treats
  3. what they get for themselves
All foods have good and bad things in them. To make life easier for guys like me, the nutritionists have set limits on certain things, so I don't have to dig into the world of unpronounceable words. My feed recipes are based upon a free range diet. I know several large scale growers who send pasture samples to be tested and adjust their feed blends based upon what pasture the birds are in. It matters when feeding 450 birds for optimum performance/conversion.

So for a practical example: Any combination of oats and barley should not exceed 15% of the diet. If your feed contains 15% by weight of those two, then they are not a good treat. Adding more oats and or barley as treats to their diet will push you over the limit. As a matter of practicality, the real limit is probably closer to 25% to account for the 10% rule. BTW, this stuff makes my head hurt.
